What?

One of our highly engaging and creativity-based competitive activities, Catapult Battles, is all about how teams work together towards a common goal by creating a functional prototype of Catapult and then putting it to the test in a competitive manner. The activity is divided into two parts: construction of the Catapults and competitive testing of the Catapults. The crucial aspect of this activity is exploring innovative and simplistic solutions to complicated problems.

How?

Each team is provided the necessary resources to build their versions of Catapults. A common pre-assembled functional catapult prototype may be provided to observe. Teams will use their creative thinking to design their versions of a functional catapult, which will then be tested for accuracy, speed, length, time spent building it, and the number of projectiles successfully fired or caught!

Why?

The crucial aspect of this activity is design thinking and exploring simplistic solutions to complicated problems. Through teamwork and appreciation for one another's strengths and areas for improvement, team members collaborate to build their distinctive designs and compete against other teams to win!
