Rollercoaster Building
What?
Roller Coaster Building is a collaborative team-building activity that requires participants to work together as ONE cohesive unit. From concept to building components and eventually connecting them to build the roller coaster to attain the desired outcomes. In a competitive and often siloed working style, the collaborative aspect is somewhat lost, and teams tend to miss out on the big picture! Rollercoaster activity aims to enable teams to experience the objectives and outcomes.
How?
A detailed brief, roles and responsibilities, and the necessary resources are provided to the team. The participants design, create, and collaborate to build a functional roller coaster model that is at least 30 to 50 feet long. The goal is to pass a medium-sized ball without any human intervention to evaluate the functionality of the model.
Why?
It instills the importance of Collaborative Approach, teamwork, and cooperation while simultaneously employing a few key skills, such as design thinking and resource management, to ensure the functionality of the final structure.
